Planetarium

SSPYV School organised a planetarium aimed to broaden students’ understanding of astronomy and space sciences by providing an interactive learning experience. The meticulously planned event allowed students to explore interactive exhibits, including a science park featuring stunning models of sundials, rockets, and other astronomical wonders. The highlight of the event was an engaging sky theatre show that transported the students on a mesmerising journey through the cosmos, inspiring a deep appreciation for the wonders of the universe.

Gurupurnima
July 21, 2024
Guru Purnima, celebrated on the full moon day of the month of Ashadha in the Hindu calendar, honors spiritual and academic teachers, with special reverence given to the sage Vedavyasa, known for compiling the Vedas and other essential texts. At our school, the significance of this day was emphasized through various rituals, including Askharabhyasam, a traditional initiation into learning, and Padapuja, a ceremonial worship of the Guru, fostering respect and gratitude towards educators who illuminate our paths.
Aksharabhyasam
Aksharabhyasam, or Vidhyarambham, is a cherished Hindu ceremony that marks the formal initiation of children into learning and writing, celebrated at our school for Kindergarten students. The event featured a traditional puja conducted by a priest, accompanied by the chanting of mantras, as the children joyfully wrote their first alphabet on a plate filled with rice grains. Witnessing their enthusiastic entry into the world of education was a heartwarming experience, embodying the cultural significance of this beautiful tradition.

Pada Puja
Padapuja is a significant Hindu ritual that expresses gratitude towards revered figures, particularly parents and grandparents, and at Abhyasa, students perform this ceremony to honor their parents and receive their blessings. Rooted in Vedic tradition and the Gurukul ethos, the practice aligns with the core teachings of ‘Mathru Devo Bhava; Pithru Devo Bhava; Acharya Devo Bhava,’ instilling deep respect for these relationships. Celebrated annually on Gurupournima, this heartfelt event not only reinforces our rich cultural heritage but also brings immense joy and fulfillment to parents, strengthening the bonds of love and respect between generations.

Hindi Diwas

“HINDI HAMARI SHAAN HAI; DESH KA ABHIMAAN HAI” highlights the significance of language and culture in fostering connections among people and building a strong nation. Hindi, celebrated for its essence of love, togetherness, and brotherhood, was adopted as the official language of India in 1949, and Hindi Diwas is commemorated on September 14 with pride and enthusiasm. To honor this officially recognized language, SSPYV celebrates Hindi Diwas in the second week of September 2024, recognizing its importance as the most widely spoken language in the country.

Dynamic School Award

SRI SRI PARAMAHANSA YOGANANDA VIDYALAYA was honored with the “Dynamic School Award” at the Education News (ENEWS) Awards during the AP and Telangana Educator’s Summit in Hyderabad. Principal Azad Hussain accepted the award on behalf of the school, alongside esteemed guests including ISRO scientists and Dr. Girish Kannan of the Live Life Foundation, who presented the prizes. Chairman Sri Gopalji Agrawal expressed his pride in the school being one of 200 recognized CBSE institutions across several states and acknowledged the collective commitment of faculty, staff, students, and parents in delivering quality education and fostering student well-being. The accolade underscores the school’s dedication to innovative education, and the management extends heartfelt appreciation to all stakeholders for their contributions to this achievement.

Hub-And-Spoke Regional ATL Teachers’ Workshop
28 to 30th October, 2024
The Hub-And-Spoke Regional ATL Teachers’ Workshop, held at SSPYV from October 28th to 30th, 2024, brought together science teachers from twelve districts in Andhra Pradesh to promote innovation and creativity in education through the SRISHTI initiative, a collaboration involving the AP State Education Department, UNICEF, and Samagra Siksha. The workshop commenced with an inaugural ceremony that underscored the aim of establishing ATL (Atal Tinkering Labs) to nurture curiosity in students, attended by various dignitaries including Sri Gopalji Agrawal, the Chairman and Correspondent of SSPYV. Throughout the three days, participants engaged in hands-on activities, including visits to Agastya Foundation, training on MIT apps, and sensor projects, ultimately culminating in a valedictory ceremony where the contributions of regional schools were celebrated. The event highlighted the importance of integrating design thinking and science innovations into educational practices, preparing teachers to implement new ideas and adapt to the challenges of globalization and technological advancements


Science & Maths Fair

SRI SRI PARAMAHANSA YOGANANDA VIDYALAYA hosted a Science and Math Fair organised by Agastya International Foundation, aiming to foster problem-solving and critical thinking skills in students through an investigative approach. The event, inaugurated by the school principal, saw enthusiastic participation from students of classes IX and X, who showcased various models and exhibits on mathematical concepts such as geometry and algebra, as well as scientific topics like human physiology, irrigation systems, and plant growth, all under the guidance of their teachers, with support from parents and members of the Agastya International Foundation.

On January 5, the teachers and students commemorated the Avirbhav Divas of Paramahansa Yogananda, who was born Mukunda Lal Ghosh in 1893 in Gorakhpur, India. The celebration at SSPYV featured a special program with Bhajans, sacred food offerings, prayer, chanting, reading, and meditation, culminating in a discourse, all expressing love and gratitude to Yogananda and his teachings that bridge Indian yoga and meditation with the West.

School Annual Day

The 24th Annual Day celebration of SSPYV showcased the theme of “Indian culture and heritage” in a vibrant and dynamic manner, with Chief Dignitaries Sri Gownivari Sreenivasulu, Sri Kancharla Srikanth and Sri P Munirathnam, and distinguished guests Dr.Suresh Babu, Sri Manohar; keynote speaker Dr Kannan Gireesh gracing the occasion alongside Chairman & Correspondent and Principal; school officials, teachers students, and proud parents. The event began with a formal welcome and a detailed annual report by the Principal, followed by a prize distribution ceremony honoring students’ achievements in academics and extracurricular activities. The audience was captivated by a variety of performances, including thematic dance dramas and a standout piece, the devotional, classical and folks which collectively highlighted the students’ talent and creativity while emphasizing the importance of education and values in serving the nation, leaving a lasting impression on all attendees.

Farewell to Grade X

As Grade IX bids farewell to their Grade X seniors, the emotional farewell ceremony encapsulated a beautiful journey of shared memories, laughter, and growth. The spirited students of Class IX gathered at SSPYV to bid a heartfelt farewell to their Class X seniors, marking the end of their journey together. The emotional ceremony began with an invocation and Saraswati pooja, blessing the outgoing students and presenting hall-tickets as a traditional symbol of goodwill. The candle lighting ceremony followed, representing the illumination of knowledge that will guide the seniors on their future paths. Class IX students performed heartfelt music that evoked cherished memories, while inspiring speeches encouraged everyone to embrace multiple goals as they prepare for the next chapter. Students exchanged heartfelt speeches, reminiscing about the laughter-filled days in classrooms, the challenges faced together, and the invaluable lessons learned. The reminiscence shared by students and faculty highlighted the deep bonds forged over the years, ultimately expressing gratitude and love for the dedicated Class X students as they embark on new adventures.

National Science Day

National Science Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm, emphasizing the importance of fostering scientific awareness and inspiring young minds to pursue careers in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics). The 2025 theme, “Integrated Approach in Science and Technology for a Sustainable Future,” set the tone for the day’s activities. The celebration commenced with lamp lighting and the worship of Maa Saraswati, followed by a vibrant science exhibition showcasing the creativity and knowledge of over 100 participating students through posters and models. Throughout the week, competitions were held, culminating in the distribution of certificates and medals to winners, recognizing their innovative ideas and contributions. This event not only highlighted students’ scientific capabilities but also encouraged fresh perspectives in the quest for sustainable solutions.

International Yoga Day

SSPYV commemorated International Yoga Day with a successful and engaging event, themed “Yoga for Self and Society.” The celebration was marked by the presence of esteemed guests, including Swami Shuddananda ji and Brahmachari Niranjanananda ji, along with SSPYV’s chairman and correspondent, Shri Gopalji Agrawal. Through a comprehensive introduction to yoga methods and self-meditation, and a motivational speech highlighting the importance of asanas, the event effectively conveyed the two-fold benefits of yoga practice: enhancing personal well-being and fostering a harmonious society. The active participation and engagement of students throughout the session made it a memorable experience.


Investiture Ceremony

The investiture ceremony was celebrated as the induction of the new student council leaders, including the SPL, DSPL, Prefects, Captains, and class monitors, who pledged to fulfill their responsibilities with sincerity and dedication. As they introduced themselves, dignitaries conferred badges and sashes upon them, emphasizing the importance of upholding the school motto while encouraging values of impartiality, honesty, unity, discipline, and morality in their leadership roles.

Independence Day

SSPYV celebrated India’s 78th Independence Day with a heartfelt tribute to the nation and its freedom fighters, involving students, faculty, and staff in the festivities. The celebration commenced with a flag hoisting ceremony led by the Principal and dignitaries, followed by the National Anthem and a vibrant parade featuring students from the four houses: Gandhi, Nehru, Sastri, and Tagore. The chief guest delivered an inspiring speech, praising the cultural performances, and the event concluded with a vote of thanks and the distribution of sweets to all attendees, fostering a sense of unity and pride in the spirit of independence.

Teacher’s Day

SSPYV celebrated Teachers’ Day with great enthusiasm, recognizing the crucial role teachers play as lifelong guides in shaping generations. The festivities kicked off with a tribute to Dr. Radhakrishnan, emphasizing the importance of this day in India. Senior students delighted their teachers with captivating performances and heartfelt messages, fostering cherished memories and showcasing the joy and creativity that education inspires. Marking the occasion on September 5th, students expressed their gratitude through thoughtful decorations and gifts, creating a warm atmosphere filled with appreciation. The celebration featured speeches from faculty members and concluded with a cake-cutting ceremony led by the Principal, making the day both memorable and impactful for all involved.


Children’s Day

SSPYV celebrated Children’s Day on November 14, with enthusiastic festivities marking the 129th birth anniversary of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, a leader known for his fondness for children. The program began with a special assembly organized by teachers, followed by inspiring speeches from the Principal that underscored Nehru’s legacy as a visionary statesman. The celebration featured a vibrant cultural show, and students dressed casually enjoyed their favorite foods with friends. Numerous activities, including art competitions and a spirited cricket match between students and teachers, added to the joy, culminating in a day filled with laughter and camaraderie. Children’s Day serves to acknowledge children’s rights and potential, emphasizing their crucial role in shaping the nation’s future.

Annual Sports Day

SRI SRI PARAMAHANSA YOGANANDA VIDYALAYA proudly hosted its 23rd Annual Sports Day, underscoring the critical role of physical education in combating modern sedentary lifestyles. The event was infused with enthusiasm as students participated in various athletic activities aimed at improving their physical fitness, confidence, and overall development. The principal expressed heartfelt appreciation for the teachers’ support and encouraged students to embrace sportsmanship throughout the competitions. Highlighting the health benefits of physical activity, the school remains committed to integrating fitness and well-being into its educational philosophy. The week-long festivities featured engaging events such as the Penguin Race and Sack Race, culminating in a march parade and Olympic Torch relay, with certificates and medals awarded to winners and participants, reflecting the collective effort of PET teachers, faculty, and student volunteers in making the celebration a memorable success.



Republic Day

On January 26, 2025, India celebrated its 76th Republic Day with the theme ‘Swarnim Bharat: Virasat aur Vikas,’ showcasing the nation’s military strength, development, and cultural diversity. This important day commemorates the adoption of the Indian Constitution in 1950, establishing India as a republic committed to democratic values and rich heritage. Held on a Sunday at SSPYV, the celebration was filled with patriotism, featuring residential students and staff participating in the National Anthem alongside a Guard of Honour. The event concluded with a powerful message promoting unity in nation-building and the distribution of sweets, fostering a sense of community and togetherness among all attendees.
