The school was established by Sri Gopalji Agrawal in 2001, with the intent to provide affordable, high-quality residential education to children of families seeking a balanced approach to learning. Laboratories
The laboratories at SSPYV are spacious and well-equipped to accommodate more than 40 students in a batch.
The ATAL tinkering lab was setup in our Vidyalaya in 2021, sponsored by NITI Ayog, Government of India. The main objective is to foster curiosity & creativity to develop the student’s idea as a model.
Fully equipped, Physics, Chemistry & Biology labs encourage students to learn the sciences by practical approach as per CBSE norms.
At SSPYV, math lab help the Junior and Senior students to understand abstract concepts through designed activities using manipulatives, 2D & 3D models, board games, mind games, etc. This experience allows them to discover many important mathematical principles making math learning easy and enjoyable.
English lab at SSPYV imparts English learning through vocabulary, phonetics, intonation and modulation skills. Computers and headsets with microphones are assigned to individual students to promote overall proficiency in the English language.
Computer Lab at Yogananda Vidyalaya is fully networked and equipped with latest computers to accommodate 40 students. Students become proficient with computers – an essential skill for today.
School & Residential Enviornment
The school is in serene natural surroundings near Rajupeta – Kuppam, Chittoor District, Andhra Pradesh. Situated at an altitude of 760 metres (2,500 feet) climate is pleasing throughout the year. The campus sprawling over 50 acres, is full of trees and cultivated land. Plentiful fresh cows milk and fresh vegetables are available on the campus. The school is situated 21Kms north of Kuppam Railway Station on Kuppam-Palamaner National Highway- 42 and can be reached easily by rail and road. Regular buses ply between Kuppam and Bangalore, Chittoor, Chennai, Krishnagiri etc. Nearest Airport is Bengaluru- 130 kms, west.
Curriculum
The curriculum of different levels is dependent on the age and learning ability of children in conformity with the CBSE syllabus.
Junior Level (Classes I TO V)
The children develop their skills and capabilities with a flexible curriculum and with the help of outdoor classes, learning materials, crafts, painting, music and drama. Maths and languages are taught in classrooms to enhance their computational skill and capacity of expression. Students also learn to use computers through appropriate CDs and learning programmes. Elementary English, Hindi and Telugu / Tamil / Kanada are taught.
Middle Level (Classes VI TO VIII)
As the children grow, classroom teaching becomes more rigorous. Besides higher level of Mathematics, English, Hindi, a third language, Social Studies and General Science are taught. Outdoor studies, crafts and arts are continued. Homework is introduced to make the student self-reliant.
Senior Level (Classes IX & X)
Along with all the subjects taught in the middle school, sciences like Physics, Chemistry and Biology are introduced. Classroom teaching is oriented towards CBSE Board examinations of class X. Hence group discussions, presentations, seminars, project work and homework are assigned besides regular tests and evaluation by different subject teachers. Lab work and use of library is increased. Students have the option to study a third language including Sanskrit.
Educational Tours
The educational tours undertaken twice a year expose the children to our rich history, culture and heritage. It also helps them to develop a keen sense of observation, patriotism, tolerance and need for co-existence. Visit to industries helps them comprehend the application of technology.
Campus Hostel
The hostel facility is available for students from class I to X. Hostel has a prescribed schedule to facilitate the maintenance of discipline and create a healthy routine. The students are encouraged to maintain their own rooms and belongings and keep the surroundings tidy.
Weekends are scheduled with fun & frolic with indoor and outdoor activities, cultural programmes, picnics and leisure hours. The school supports various activities such as sports, vocal and instrumental music, sketching, drawing, painting, other fine arts and crafts.
Hostel wardens are the guardians of the boarders and regularly inspect the bedrooms, diet, personal hygiene and laundry. They liaise closely with the academic staff to monitor students. They are responsible for the happiness and integration of students and for being in contact with their parents. Strict discipline is always maintained.
Health and Safety

CCTV surveillance and trained security personnel ensure student safety around the clock.
Dining Hall: A hygienic kitchen offers timely nutritious vegetarian meals prepared with fresh ingredients.
Transport
The school has an effective transport service connecting the neighbourhood. A fleet of school buses operates to provide service within a radius of 30 km. Parents have the advantage of GPS tracking facility.
Every bus has a custodian at the embarkation and disembarkation points. The buses are equipped with fire extinguishers and first aid boxes to cater for any emergency.
